PURPOSE: To prevent the front end of a locking lever from being caught in the upper surface of a latch lever in the vicinity of the tip end of the latter.
CONSTITUTION: A lever 5 is provided to a shaft 4 of a latch 3 in a housing 1. An elongated hole 8 is formed in a lever 7 inside of a bracket 6 located in the housing. A pin 12 is provided in the vicinity of an engaging hole 11 in an inner lever 9 near to the tip end of the lever 7. A guide hole 13 is formed in the bracket 6. When the latch 3 is engaged with a striker 2 in a half latch condition, the latch 3 is disengaged from the striker 3 so as to effect a full open condition so that the pin 12 of the lever 9 is moved along the guide hole 13 in the bracket 6 and the elongated hole 8 of the lever 7. The engaging hole 11 of the lever 9 is moved while it engages with a support shaft 10 of the lever 7, and the lever 9 is moved along the longitudinal direction of the lever 7. A part of the lever 5 near to the top end of the same is engaged with a side edge of the lever in a part which is in the vicinity of the tip end of the lever 9 and which is projected from the tip end of the lever 7, thereby it is possible to prevent the tip end of the lever 7 from catching the upper surface of the lever 5 in a part near to the tip end of the same.
