Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize saving of space in a lockup device in which the frictional plate is arranged on the outer circumference of a damper mechanism in order to secure the torque transmission capacity.
SOLUTION: This lockup device 1 is arranged in a space between a front cover 3 and a turbine 4 in a fluid chamber. The lockup device 1 is provided with the frictional plate 12 for clutch, a pair of drive plates 13, 14, a driven plate 15 and a coil spring 16. The frictional plate 12 can be connected with the front cover 3 so as to rotate integrally. The pair of drive plates 13, 14 are a pair of disk shaped members arranged in an axially separated state and have an extension part 18 extending from one outer peripheral edge of a pair of disk shaped members to the other, and engaging with the inner peripheral edge of the frictional plate 12 in relatively non-rotatable manner and movably in the axial direction. The driven plate 15 is fixed to the turbine 4. The coil spring 16 is compressed by the pair of drive plates 13, 14 and the driven plate 15 when the drive plates 13, 14 and the driven plate 15 rotate relatively.
