Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently move each cradle vertically by setting one of dog clutches for the plus/minus Z directions in order to be capable of being changed to cutting feed, and concurrently setting the other of the dog clutches in order to be capable of being changed to quick return when a carriage is moved in the plus/minus Z directions.
CONSTITUTION: Dog clutches 69 and 70 for the plus/minus Z directions are set in parallel between a bed 2 and a carriage 5 moved in the Z axis direction of the bed 2 in response to a plural number of cradles 25 in such a way that their positions can be adjusted while each specified pattern is being followed, and a cradle lift operation section 65 is provided for the carriage 5 side, where the section consists of a detecting section 75 which enables each work cradle 25 to be vertically moved based on electrical signals while being brought into contact with/separated from each dog clutch for the plus/minus Z directions. Furthermore, when the carriage 5 is moved in the plus/ minus Z direction, one of the dog clutches 69 and 70 for the plus/minus Z directions can be set in order to be feely changed to cutting feed, and the other can be set in order to be freely changed to quick return, so that each work cradle 25 is thereby operated to go up and down in order via each dog clutch 69 and 70 for the plus/minus Z directions when the carriage 5 passes through.
