Abstract:

To provide a loom having linear motor type opening devices disposed so as to maintain the conventional pitches of heald frames.

An opening device comprises guide frames 5, heald frames 2 and linear motors 1. A loom is manufactured by arranging the opening devices in series. It is preferable that the mutual distances of the heald frames 2 are, if possible, small in consideration of the magnitudes of the vertical movements of the back disposed heald frames. Since the linear motors 1 are disposed so as to give thrusts for driving the heald frames 2, the reduction in the sizes of the linear motors 1 are limited. Thus, the linear motors are arranged at different shifted positions so that the linear motors of the adjacent opening device are not collided with each other. The opening devices are shifted from each other, or the widths of the heald frames 2 are changed from each other, thereby preventing the positions of the linear motors from overlapping each other.
