Title:
LOW PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3929532
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure discharge lamp having a relatively long opening/closing life though the lamp can be relatively easily manufactured.
SOLUTION: A lamp has an air-tight discharge vessel 10 containing an ionization sealed object. An electrode is arranged inside the discharge vessel 10, a discharge way is extended between the electrodes. At least one electrode has a tungsten coil 20A connected to power feed conductors 30A, 30A' extended to outside the discharge vessel 10. This coil 20A has a central section 21A coated with an electron emitting material 22A and boundary sections 23A, 23A' between the central section 21A and each power feed conductor 30A, 30A' in both sides. This boundary section 23A, 23A' has a coating 21A, 24A' of protecting material consisting of ceramic material having specific resistance smaller than 1000μΩ.cm.
