Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a low pressure mercury vapor electric discharge lamp using a mercury discharging metal ring, which can change the mercury seal-in quantity for each kind and which has the simple structure to improve the productivity and which has the stabilized quality.
CONSTITUTION: In a low pressure mercury vapor electric discharge lamp, electrodes 12 are sealed in both ends of a bulb 10, and the periphery of each electrode 12 is surrounded by a metal ring 30 having the mercury discharging work. In this mercury discharging metal ring 30, a metal piece 31 having the mercury discharging work and a metal piece 32, which does not have the mercury discharging work, are connected in the circumferential direction to form a ring. With this structure, in the case where the mercury sealing quantity is changed, the application is enabled by the response such as prolonging the metal piece 31 having the mercury discharging work or increasing the number of use thereof or the like.
