Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively control application quantity and uniform a lubricant on the surface of the outermost layer of a wire rod by applying the lubricant to the wire rod peripheral surface by penetration while traveling the wire rod within the through-hole of a plate material, and passing it through a small diameter through-hole.
SOLUTION: A lubricant applying jig 11 is formed of a foamed urethane sheet or nonwoven fabric and a fixture, 3nd a lubricant 5 is quantitatively supplied thereto through a nozzle 14 by a pump 13. The lubricant applying jig 11 is formed into plate, and has a through-hole 15 having a diameter equal to or smaller than a wire rod 6. When the wire rod 6 travels within the through- hole 15, the lubricant 5 is passed through the pores or fibers of the foamed urethane sheet or nonwoven fabric and applied to the surface of the wire rod 6 in the through-hole 15. The wire rod 6 is then passed through a through-hole 17 formed on the plate material such as rubber sheet packing of an uniformly applying jig 12. This through-hole 17 is formed with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the wire rod 6, and the lubricant 5 applied to the periphery of the wire rod 6 is scraped to thinly and uniformly apply the lubricant to the periphery of the wire rod 6.
