Abstract:
To provide a lubricant additive exhibiting good antioxidation performances and being less corrosive, and a lubricating oil composition comprising the same.
The lubricant additive comprises a phosphorus-molybdenum compound prepared by causing a pentavalent and/or hexavalent inorganic molybdenum compound to react with an organic phosphorous compound other than acidic phosphate esters, particularly an acidic organic phosphorous compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein h, k, m and n are each a numerical value of 0 or 1; when n is 0, h+k+m is a numerical value of 0-3; when n is 1, h+k+m is a numerical value of 0-2; and R1-R3 are each a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group and R1-R3 are not simultaneously a hydrogen atom).
