Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant application device that can ensure stable application performance in applying lubricant on the surface of an image carrier by using a belt-like rotating body, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A lubricant application device 180 includes: a belt-like rotating body 190 that is brought into contact with the surface of a photoreceptor drum 1413 to be elastically deformed to form a contact nip N with the photoreceptor drum 1413, so as to apply lubricant to the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1413; and a brush roller 194 that is arranged on the downstream side in a direction of rotation of the belt-like rotating body 190 with respect to the contact nip N, so as to scrape off the lubricant attached to the surface of the belt-like rotating body 190.
