To provide a lubricant composition for a shock absorber, which improves frictional force at a sliding portion between a piston rod and an oil seal or between a piston band and a cylinder etc. in the shock absorber without deteriorating corrosion resistance and sludge resistance, retains a good wear resistance and realizes high levels of steering stability and ride quality.
The lubricant composition for the shock absorber comprises a base oil comprising a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil, (A) 0.3-2 mass% zinc dialkyldithiophosphate wherein the alkyl group has 7-12 carbons, (B) 0.05-2 mass% fatty acid amides and (C) 0.1-1 mass% monocyclic phenolic antioxidant, provided that the base oil contains 0.6 mass% ester having a -COO- bond, calculated in terms of -COO-.
