PURPOSE: To control deterioration of lubricating oil and make the lubricating oil to maintenance free by detecting TBN value (total base value) in the lubricating oil with an electric current and controlling of supplying means additives.
CONSTITUTION: A TBN value of lubricating oil with an electric current using a detecting means 29 installed in a circulating path of the lubricating oil and a supplying means 18 is controlled by a controlling means 19 according to said detected TBN value to supply additives to the lubricating oil. Otherwise, the supplying means is controlled by the controlling means 19 so as the TBN value of the lubricating oil to be 0-2. Furthermore, a separating agent separating insoluble component in the lubricating oil with aggregation or adhesion is added to the lubricating oil by a separating agent-adding means 7 and the insoluble component separated with the separating agent is filtered by a filtering means 9 installed at a downstream of the separating agent-supplying means, then excess separating agent is adsorbed with an adsorbing means 10 installed at a downstream of the filtering means.
