To provide the lubrication device of a toroidal continuously variable transmission preventing catching of air following the jump up of oil.
Oil is supplied to an oil sump 40 from a casing 25 side through oil passages 49, 41. The tips 38, 39 of an input disc 4 and output disc 5 are lubricated by the oil stored in the oil sump 40 and the oil flows out of a clearance C onto a toroid curved surface and spreads in all surfaces by a centrifugal force following the rotation of the input disc 4 and output disc 5 and lubricates and cools the input disc 4 and output disc 5 and a power roller. As this lubrication device is not the type of blowing the off oil from a nozzle toward the discs 4, 5, the oil is not jumped up after colliding to the discs 4, 5 and a bubble is not wrapped in the oil.
