Title:
LUBRICATOR FOR MARINE PROPULSION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3255491
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To compactly arrange a lubricating mechanism and prevent suction of air from an oil suction port respectively by integrating an oil tank with a crank case, and by arranging the oil suction port on a lowermost position of an oil reservoir.
CONSTITUTION: An engine main body 24 is arranged inside a cowling 22 of a lubricating device for a propeller for a marine vessel. An oil reservoir 56 for lubricating oil is arranged on a lower end of the engine main body 24. The engine main body 24 also has an oil tank 58 for storing the oil, and an oil pump 62 for transferring the oil inside the oil reservoir 56 to the oil tank 58. The oil tank 58 is integrated with a crank case 34 of the engine main body 24. The oil tank 58 is thus compactly arranged inside the cowling 22. An oil suction port communicated with the oil pump 62 may be arranged on a lowermost position of the oil reservoir 56 so as to prevent suction of air from the oil suction port.
