PURPOSE: To improve the word learning efficiency by reading out information related to a word from a memory in accordance with the input from a key input part and dividing this word into parts to display them and outputting the meaning of each part with a voice.

CONSTITUTION: A key input part A, a display part B, a voice output part C, and a memory D where many words, information to divide each word into parts having meanings, and information of meanings of respective parts are stored are provided. A word part information output means E is provided which reads out information related to the word from the memory D in accordance with the input from the key input part A and divides the word into parts to display them on the display part B and outputs meanings of respective parts to the voice output part C with a voice. The word is divided into parts and is displayed on the display part B in accordance with designation from the key input part A (for example, English word 'autobiography' is displayed as 'auto-bio-graphy'), and meanings of respective parts are outputted with a voice by the voice output part C. Thus, the word learning efficiency is consid erably improved.
