Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image display device which uses an array of electric field discharge devices.
CONSTITUTION: The electric field discharge devices 860 in the array provide electron flows to an anode 806, having a cathode luminescence layer 870 individually or in cooperation with several electric field discharge devices in the array. The electron discharge is controlled by constant-current sources 810, 811, 812, and 813, corresponding to the respective electric field discharge devices. Luminance of areas 850, 851, 852, 853, and 854 of the cathode luminescence layer 870 is determined by the continuance of the operation states of the respective control current sources 810, 811, 812, and 813.
