Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a product having a luster by the same number of times of baking as that of a case of producing goods of ordinary glazed pottery.
CONSTITUTION: A glaze raw material having degree of fire resistance adjusted to a temperature lower than a burning temperature of a green body is mixed with ≥6wt.% of niobium oxide or zirconium chloride to give a luster glaze. The luster glaze is applied to the surface of a green body having carried out biscuit firing or a green body having omitted biscuit firing. The green material is burnt. Consequently, the surface of the green body is provided with a luster. Usually both niobium oxide and zirconium chloride show a silver-colored metal luster and can change a color tone by adding pigment, etc.
