To provide a simple-structured lymph node detecting apparatus capable of easily detecting the position of a lymph node.
This sentinel lymph node detecting apparatus 1 comprises a light source unit 2 for irradiating a biological observation part 20 including a sentinel lymph node 21 near a tumor, to which a fluorochrome emitting fluorescence is injected, with excitation light 10 and illumination light 12, an optical filter 3 transmitting a fluorescent image 11 and a normal image 13, an imaging device 5 integrated with the excitation light source unit 2 for imaging the fluorescent image 11 and the normal image 13 penetrating the optical filter 3, and an image display device 7 for displaying the captured observation images. The wavelength of the illumination light 11 is set at a value close to the wavelength of the fluorescence emitted from the fluorochrome.
