Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool capable of reducing a load applied to a drive system for moving a column and a saddle.
SOLUTION: This machine tool is provided with the saddle 4 provided on a bed 1 so as to move in the direction of Z-axis, the column 5 provided on the saddle 4 so as to move in the direction of Y-axis, a tool slide 6 provided on the column 5 so as to move in the direction of X-axis, and a turn tool rest 7 attached to the tool slide 6 so as to turn freely around an axial line extending in the direction of Y-axis. It has a tool magazine 11 fixed to the saddle 4, a magazine support 15 fixed to a part on the opposite side to a side where the turn tool rest 7 is provided in the column 5, and a guide rail 16 and a slider 17 for engaging the tool magazine 11 with the magazine support 15 so as to move in the direction of Y-axis for the column 5.
