Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode connector, by which the oxygen purity (H2/O2) becomes ≤1,000 ppm and the hydrogen purity (O2/H2) becomes ≤100 ppm when electrolyzed.
SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the electrode connector for the solid polymer-type water electrolysis, after a platinum layer is deposited on both the surfaces of an ion exchange resin by an electroless plating method, when iridium is deposited on one surface or both the surfaces of the platinum plated layers by an electroless plating method, the ion exchange resin having deposited platinum layers is washed with an acid solution of 0.03 to 2 N at a temperature of ≤50°C, and then iridium is deposited by the electroless plating method. It is preferable that a bath for plating iridium contains an iridium halide and hydrazine, and the pH of the bath is 3 to 10.
