Title:
MACHINING METHOD FOR CORNER PART OF END MILL AND CORNER PART MACHINING JIG APPLIED TO ABOVE METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3238428
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an end mill machining method to form the corner part of the end mill into a concavely curved face along the circumferential direction of a tool body while necessary clearance being given to the corner part.
CONSTITUTION: An end mill E is held so that its axis O1 may cross obliquely the rotary axis G1 of a grindstone 50, and a corner part 8 is brought into close contact with the periphery 51 of the grindstone 50, and the end mill E is turned round a turning axis O3. The position of the turning axis O3 is set within a range where the turning axis O3 moves back to the basic end side in the axial direction of the end mill E than the front end 8a in the rotational direction of the corner part 8, and moreover passes through the end 8a of the corner part 8 and separates toward a side opposite to the axis O1 of the end mill E from an imaginary line L parallel to the axis O1 of the end mill E.
