To provide a magnetic card which keeps a magnetic recording layer from standing out even if the magnetic recording layer is formed in a portion of the card, while avoiding hindrance to the reading of the magnetic recording layer, and allowing printing on the overall surface of the card including the surface of the magnetic recording layer with high design properties.
In the magnetic card having a magnetic recording unit provided on part of the surface of the card, the magnetic recording unit includes an ink-jet receiving layer, a shielding layer and a magnetic recording layer. The card includes at least an ink-jet receiving layer and a card base. The ink-jet receiving layer of the magnetic recording unit and the ink-jet receiving layer of the card contain a cationic urethane resin, a cationic fixing agent and a filler. The magnetic recording layer contains a magnetic substance and an urethane resin. The overall surface of the magnetic card including the magnetic recording unit of the magnetic card can be printed using an ink-jet method.
