Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that noise is generated in a reading head part by being influenced by electromagnetic waves and a magnetic field generated from a CRT display, etc., arranged closely to a magnetic character recognizing device and the noise is also generated due to shock, vibration to be applied from the outside to a device and wrinkles, etc., of a recording medium in a magnetic character recognizing device to read information recorded with magnetic ink.
SOLUTION: The magnetic character recognizing device enables stable reading of magnetic characters by mounting an opposing plate made of metal 31 on the opposite surface of a reading part 21a of a reading head 21, providing shield plates 32, 33 on the upper and lower parts of a reader and preventing generation of noise by devising the shape of a paper pressing part 23 to press the recording medium P on the reading head 21.
