Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a driving feel by realizing inter-vehicle distance control wherein control delay is improved.
SOLUTION: In a conventional method, a decelerating means is driven and controlled only when acceleration deviation (= target acceleration - actual acceleration) exceeds a certain threshold (acceleration deviation threshold value Atref1) (S912: YES). Put another way, since the decelerating means (here, F/C) is not operated until this threshold will be exceeded, in some cases, starting of deceleration is delayed and this gives a feel of wrongness to a driver. This system, on the other hand, can perform the F/C if predicted acceleration deviation exceeds the threshold (the acceleration deviation threshold value Atreflex) (S913: YES) even though the acceleration deviation do not exceed the threshold (S912: NO). That is, whether operation of future F/C is necessary or not can be judged by using the predicted value, and if it is necessary, the deceleration can be started in early time. In other cases of deceleration means such as brake devices shall be the same.
