PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic disc drive having a frame causing no deformation in the shape or deterioration in the machining accuracy at low cost.

CONSTITUTION: The magnetic disc drive comprises a frame 1 having a standing shaft 1a, a hub 3 supported rotatably by bearings 2, 2' fitted over the shaft 1a, a drive magnet 4 rotatable integrally with the hub 3, and a stator core 5 secured to the frame 1 while facing the drive magnet 4. The frame 1 is made of a sintered metallic powder where at least carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphor, sulfur, nickel, chromium and molybdenum are added to iron.
