Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize the stabilization of a floating quantity and high-floating by detecting the floating quantity from the returning quantity of the reflected light of light projected on a disk surface and controlling the floating quantity of a magnetic head slider corresponding to an detecting output. CONSTITUTION:Light outgoing from a semiconductor laser 6 is made incident from a one end 5a of optical fiber 5 and outgoes from the other end 5b. The outgoing light is reflected on the surface of a disk 4, retrogrades and returns to the laser 6. When the floating quantity of a slider 2 is close to zero, since the broadening of the light is small, the most part of the reflected light is made incident on the end part 5b of the optical fiber and a light quantity which returns to the laser 6 becomes large. The monitoring light is detected by a signal processing circuit 7 and the floating quantity of the slider 2 is calculated. A control signal from the circuit 7 is transmitted to a holder 8 and the slider 2 is controlled through a servo mechanism 8a so that a head floating quantity may be constant.
