To provide a magnetic head grinding device which grinds a magnetic head with improved grinding precision by improving the responsiveness and linearity of a pressing member without being affected by an adhesive, and to provide a magnetic head grinding method.
The magnetic head grinding device is formed of: a grinding surface plate having a rotary grinding surface; a rotationally driving means for rotating the grinding surface; and a grinding head arranged on the grinding surface in a manner movable on the same, and pressing an object to be ground to the grinding surface to grind the same. The grinding head has elasticity, and includes a holding section for holding the object to be ground on a surface thereof, a holding section fixing section for fixing the holding section thereto, and a plurality of pressing members for pressing the object to be ground via the holding section. According to the structure of the magnetic head grinding device, while the pressing means make contact with a pressing region of the holding section, which the pressing members press, the holding section in an area other than the pressing region is fixed to the holding section fixing section.
