Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the difficulty of simultaneously preventing magnetic saturation in the lower part of a gap layer and improving the processing accuracy of an upper magnetic layer and the gap layer in a conventional magnetic head.
SOLUTION: A Gd deciding layer 45 is formed on the upper surface of a lower magnetic pole part 41, and a gap layer 42 and an upper magnetic pole layer 43 are plated and formed through a plated substrate layer 42a above the lower magnetic pole part 41 and the Gd deciding layer 45. Since the lower magnetic pole part 41 is extended and formed below the Gd deciding layer 45, magnetic saturation on the lower magnetic pole part 41 is suppressed.
