Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium of a perpendicular magnetic recording system, which has a more excellent magnetic recording characteristic and is low in medium noise, and to provide its manufacturing method and a magnetic recording device.
SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium of the perpendicular magnetic recording system is provided with: a substrate which is formed of non-magnetic material; a soft magnetism backing layer which is formed of soft magnetic material and is formed on the soft magnetism backing layer; an underlayer which is formed on the soft magnetism backing layer; and a recording layer which is formed of alloy magnetic material consisting essentially of CoPtCr containing oxide and which is formed on the underlayer. The recording layer is formed of two or more magnetic layers different in oxide content, and the oxide content in the layer formed at the side closest to the underlayer is the highest in the two or more magnetic recording layers constituting the recording layer.
