Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic recording and reproducing device realizing a lower error rate without complicating an equalizer of reproducing system by making a distortion and S/N of a reproducing signal against the wear of head to the state closest to the initial state of the time before the wear of head.
CONSTITUTION: A recording current corresponding to an input signal amplified by a recording amplifier 2 is supplied to a recording head 3 by an information signal of a video signal, etc., inputted from a signal input terminal 1. The head 3 is mounted on a rotary drum to record the signal on a magnetic tape 4 running while being wound round the rotary drum. The recorded signal is reproduced by a reproducing head 5 which is similarly mounted on the rotary drum and amplified by a preamplifier 6. The output signal from the preamplifier 6 is inputted to a distortion detecting circuit 8 through the fixed equalizer 7 for the detection of the distortion and outputted to a recording current 9. The recorded current outputted from the recording amplifier 2 is adjusted by the recording current circuit 9 so that the distortion is minimized in accordance with the detected signal from the distortion detecting circuit 8.
