Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape reproducing device having a high reading sensitivity for a magnetization pattern.SOLUTION: The magnetic tape reproducing device includes reference clock generation means for generating a reference clock, tape travelling means for travelling the tape according to the reference clock, and a magnetic field line sensor for reading the magnetization pattern from the travelling magnetic tape according to the reference clock. In the magnetic field line sensor 20, sets each composed of a magnetic sensor 23 for detecting a magnetic field from a detection area of a prescribed width on a recording surface of the travelling magnetic tape, and a magnetic shield 25 for preventing a magnetic field outside the detection area from reaching the magnetic sensor are arranged in a line state in a direction perpendicular to the travelling direction of the magnetic tape 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
