Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium which embodies good magnetic domain magnification reproduction with simple constitution and has a high recording density and high reliability and its reproducing method.
SOLUTION: This magneto-optical recording medium is constituted by laminating a transparent dielectric layer 12, a reproducing layer 5, an intermediate layer 6, a recording layer 7 and a protective layer 13 in this order on a disk substrate 11 and is divided to a servo region having pits 1... for tracking control by a sample servo tracking method and a data region free of ruggendess for recording information. Since the data region is devoid of the ruggedness, the magnetic walls of the reproduction magnetic domains 10 formed in the reproducing layer 5 are not subjected to pinning. Then, the magnetic wall movement in the reproducing layer 5 is made free and even if the track pitch is narrowed, the expansion of the reproduction magnetic domains 10 is well embodied.
