Title:
MAGNETORESISTANCE ELEMENT FOR DETECTING UNIDIRECTIONAL MAGNETIC FIELD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01217283
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enlarge a measuring range for detecting a magnetism while preventing the reversal of magnetism by strong magnetism, by making the magnetic characteristics of a magnetoresistance element asymmetric.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetically anisotropic material (ferromagnetic membrane pattern) 11 is formed of an Fe-Ni (Permalloy) or Co-Ni alloy and a conductor pattern 12 is formed from an Au film. A current I1 is supplied to a lead-out electrode 13 from a constant current source I0. θ11 is the angle formed by the long axis direction of a magnetoresistance element and the conductor pattern 12 and a barber pole type unidirectional magnetic field detecting magneto- resistance element is constituted. The angle formed by the direction of the current I1 flowing to the ferromagnetic membrane pattern 11 of the magnetoresistance element and an initial magnetizing direction M0 is set to θ1(16°<θ1<25°). By this method, magnetic characteristics are made asymmetric and a measuring range for detecting an unidirectional magnetic field is enlarged.
