Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the durability, the reliability and the like of a shift lock mechanism by restraining the lost motion of an inhibiting member in a shift lock mechanism in association with a brake pedal when a shift lever is in a running range other than a P range. CONSTITUTION:In a manipulating device, a detent pin 3 is engaged with a stepped part in a shift zone 4 when a shift lever 2 is rotated about a shaft 5a as a center. There is provided an inhibiting member 5 in a shift lock mecha nism below the detent pin 3 positioned in a P range. The inhibiting member 5 is coupled to a crank member 8 associated with a brake pedal 7, through a wire 6. In this arrangement, an inhibiting member restraining means 11 is provided to the inhibiting member 5 outside of the shift zone 4. Thereby it is possible to restrain the lost motion of the inhibiting member 5 in association with the brake pedal 7 when the shift lever 2 is set in a running range.
