Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the formation of an oil hole by previously forming the oil hole on a shaft member made of steel pipe, and fitting a cam shaft component on the said shaft member, and then forming another oil hole corresponding to the side oil hole on the cam shaft component. CONSTITUTION:An oil hole 16a is previously formed on a shaft member 12 made of steel pipe, and cam shaft component 10 made of sintered material is fitted on the shaft member 12, and coupled with it by sintering. In this case, elements, namely C, Ni, Cr, and Mo, diffuse from the sintered material into the shaft member 12 made of the steel pipe to form a hardened layer 14 on its surface, and then an oil hole 16b is formed at a position corresponding to the coil hole 16a on the cam shaft component 10. Since the oil hole 16a on the shaft member 12 made of the steel pipe has been formed before the formation of the hardened layer 14, the oil hole can be easily formed.
