PURPOSE: To enhance the high-temperature and high-humidity life characteristic of a capacitor by a method wherein an electrode is immersed in, and treated with, an electrode treatment aqueous solution which is composed of silicic acid or one of silicates and of phosphoric acid or one of phosphates and a conductive polymer is formed, by an electrolytic polymerization operation, by using an electrolytic solution which contains a polymerizing monomer and a supporting electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant insulating tape 8 is pasted on the surface of a valve- action metal 2; an anodic oxidation operation is performed; a dielectric film 3 is formed. Then, a conductive layer composed of a manganese oxide film 4 is formed; it is immersed in an electrode-treatment aqueous solution. Then, the valve-action metal foil 2 is immersed in an electrolytic polymerization solution 10; an electrode 7 for polymerization start use is brought close to the manganese oxide film 4; a constant voltage at 2.5V is applied acorss the electrode and a cathode 13 for 30 minutes; a conductive polymer film 5 (a polypyrrole film) for counter electrode use is formed on the manganese oxide 4. A carbon paint layer 11 and a silver paint layer 12 are laminated; an anode lead and a cathode lead are installed; a capacitor is manufactured. Thereby, it is possible to realize the capacitor whose life characteristic is excellent.
