Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor in a production process by integrally forming a side rubber layer beforehand at the rubber coating of a reinforced layer on a canvas so as to simplify and facilitate the production process of a conveyor belt and shorten a time required for the production.
SOLUTION: A conveyor belt manufacturing method comprises two processes: a calendar process and a vulcanizing process. In the calendar process, a rubber coating is applied to a canvas 14 of reinforced layer 13, and the overall length of the reinforced layer 13 in the lateral direction is restricted so that it becomes longer by a specified length than the length of the canvas 14 in the lateral direction so as to form a side rubber layer 15 at the end part of the reinforced layer 13 in the lateral direction. In the vulcanizing process, an upper rubber layer 11 is formed integrally by vulcanization on the upper part of the reinforced layer 13 formed in the calendar process and a lower rubber layer 12 is formed integrally by vulcanization on the lower part of it.
