PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a forging die effectively impeding chipping, improving surface hardness and surface roughness and excellent in durability.
SOLUTION: A first and a second solution storage tanks 30, 36 are connected to a treating tank 18. The first solution storage tank 30 stores an electric discharge machining solution 28 used at the time of applying rough machining and intermediate finish-machining to a die 12, while the second solution storage tank 36 stores an electric discharge machining powder solution 34 with powder of chromium metal 32 added, used at the time of finish-machining.
