PURPOSE: To reduce irregularities of dimensions, and to elevate the manufacturing efficiently, by cutting a rolled rod material at a prescribed position, and obtaining the tip of a fork by rolling the end part of said rod material once again.
CONSTITUTION: A rod material 8 having a square section and also a bulged part 9 on one side surface of its broad width is obtained by inserting and rolling a heated steel material between molding rolls 2, 3. Subsequently, the rod material 8 is cut in a state that the bulged part 9 is positioned in the middle part, and a base material 11 is obtained. After that, one end part of this base material 11 is rolled once again so as to become thin gradually toward the tip. Also, at the part of the bulged part 9, the base material is bent in an L-shape so that the bulged part comes to its outside. In this way, a fork 12 of an L-shape, whose variation in dimensions is small is manufactured efficiently.
