Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a press process by setting a hollow conical body between dies, flattening each end part of the conical body, fitting a pipe for applying the pressure, pouring the pressurized medium from the pipe into a bag-shaped body in the dies to inflate the bag-shaped body, and forming the primary shape of a fuel tank.
SOLUTION: A blank is obtained by cutting a metal sheet raw material into approximately trapezoidal shape, the blank is formed to be hollow and conical, and a straight part to be joined of the hollow conical raw material is welded to obtain a hollow conical body. The hollow conical body is set to dies 10, the dies 10 are clamped, each side part of the hollow conical body is flattened, a pipe 14 for applying the pressure is fitted to form the hollow conical body into a bag-shaped body (d) of the prescribed shape. A pressurized medium is poured from the pipe 14 into the bag-shaped body (d) to inflate the bag-shaped body (d), and form the primary shape of a fuel tank, and then, a formed article of the primary shape is taken out of the dies 10, unnecessary parts are cut, a fuel pouring port is fitted, and a fuel feeding port is fitted to complete the fuel tank.
