To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel with improved reliability by preventing breaking of a formed seal or generation of air bubbles in the seal in a step to attach substrates by hardening a sealant and sealing.
After coating an array substrate 10 with a sealant so as to surround the outside of a display region, the array substrate 10 and a counter substrate 12 are placed opposite to each other holding a specified gap in between. Succeedingly the array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 12 are heated with pressurizing so as to harden the sealant and attach the substrates with each other by sealing. Subsequently a liquid crystal composition is sealed into the gap between the array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 12 through a liquid crystal injection port. The sealant which can keep ≥110 poise viscosity during a sealant hardening step is used as the sealant. The viscosity of the sealant is adjusted by using a high molecular weight resin as the main component, a low-boiling liquid as a solvent, a hardening agent which is a liquid under ordinary temperature or the like.
