Abstract:
Highly concentrated amine oxides are prepared by oxidation of tertiary amines of the formula R<1>R<2>R<3>N, in which R<1> and R<2>, are identical or different, denote alkyl or alkenyl radicals having 8 to 18 carbon atoms or radicals of the formula R<1>(OCH2CH2)n, in which R<1> is as defined above and n is 1 to 5, and R<3> denotes CH3, C2H5, C2H4OH or C3H6OH, with hydrogen peroxide, resulting in the formation of an amine oxide product in a concentration of 40 to 98 % by weight in water.
