Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the development of 'top-roll' accompanied by crack along a ridge line on an annular projection of a pulley, at the time of forming the multi-grooved V pulley with a form rolling.
SOLUTION: First, this pulley is manufactured from a preform 31 having a wavy shape 34 on an annular surface composed of linear flat root parts 33 with e.g. about 1 mm as the cross sectional shape and wavy projections 35 alternately arranged with the root parts on the bottom surface of a wider annular groove 32 by pushing a preforming roller to an annular blank in a preforming process. Subsequently, a finish form-rolling is executed by pushing a finish form-rolling roller having plural annular V-shaped projections to the linear part 33 in this preform 31. Then, even in the case that there is some dislocation in the rotating axial direction between a tool and a work, since the tip part of the V-shaped projection is not brought into contact with a sloping surface, etc., of the wavy projections 35, the breakage by receiving bending moment is not developed and further, since the wavy projection 35 is coming in the interval between plural V shaped projections, the development of the 'top-roll' can be prevented.
