Abstract:
PURPOSE: To expose a pair of end surfaces of a thermistor element and cause the area of the pair of end surfaces to be constant so as to prevent in resistance value, by covering the continuous thermistor element with an inorganic cover layer and cutting the thermistor element by a predetermined length.
CONSTITUTION: Alumina sheets 12a, 12b wider than a thermistor element sheet 11 are formed. By sandwiching the thermistor element sheet 11 between the alumina sheets 12a, 12b and bonding them by pressing, portions of the alumina sheets 12a, 12b protruded in the direction of width of the thermistor element sheet 11 are bonded to each other by pressing on the lateral sides of the thermistor element sheet 11, and thus both lateral sides of the thermistor element sheet 11 are covered. At this stage the thermistor element sheet 11 becomes a green sheet covered with the two alumina sheets 12a, 12b. By cutting this green sheet along a cut mark, a chip of predetermined size is produced.
