PURPOSE: To eliminate nonconformity caused by a change with the lapse of time by baking a product obtained by impregnating and applying soluble nickel solution or super paticulate solid electrolyte dispersed solution after mixed slurry of nickel oxide and solid electrolyte is applied and baked on a single surface of solid electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: Slurry formed by mixing and adjusting nickel oxide powder having an average particle diameter of 0.5μm and YSZ powder having an average particle diameter of 0.3μm, is applied to a surface of YSZ solid electrolyte baked beforehand, and a negative electrode is formed. The cathode is impregnated with aqueous solution of nickel nitrate, and it is baked, and the cathode for a solid electrolyte type electrolytic cell is obtained. Thereby, since agglutination of nickel in the cathode can be restrained, the cathode for the solid electrolyte type electrolytic cell having excellent power generating performance and durability can be obtained. The same effect can be also obtained by using YSZ sol of a super particulate instead of the aqueous solution of the nickel nitrate.
