Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the method for aligning and fixing an optical fiber array at an arbitrary interval and with high accuracy, and the optical fiber array module in which this optical fiber array is laminated.
CONSTITUTION: By using a block-line jig 1 by which an optical fiber array constituted of plural optical fibers 2 is held in a groove and aligned at a prescribed interval, each optical fiber 2 is pressurized onto a plane of a member 3 to be fixed, to which an epoxy adhesive agent is applied as a fixing means 4 of the optical fiber 2 in advance, in a state that the optical fibers 2 are held by the jig 1, and after the epoxy adhesive agent is hardened, the jig 1 is detached and the optical fiber array is manufactured. Also, this optical fiber array is manufactured by a prescribed number, and they are laminated at a prescribed interval and formed to a module. In such a way, the production cost ca be reduced, and the optical fiber array in which the optical fibers 2 are aligned and fixed with high accuracy and the module ca be provided at a low cost.
