Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for an expensive process and to easily obtain the proper optical fiber array at low cost by charging resin after winding the outer peripheral surface of a take-up drum with an optical fiber, packing the resin, and cutting the resin part, and thus forming the optical fiber array whose end parts are both fixed with the resin. CONSTITUTION:After the outer peripheral surface of the take-up drum 1 is wound with the optical fiber 2 at specific pitches and at a specific lead angle, the resin 5 is packed so at least one place on the outer peripheral surface of the take-up drum 1 in the axial direction of the take-up drum 1. After packing the resin 5, the resin part is cut in the axial direction of the take-up drum 1 to form the optical fiber array 6 whose end parts are both fixed with the resin. Consequently, the need to arranging and fixing optical fibers in parallel and the need for the expensive process using a photomask, etc., are eliminated to easily form the optical fiber array 6 which has a proper phase and proper adjacence pitches at low cost.
