PURPOSE: To process simply a photographic image and to obtain the picture work having an arbitrary sense by converting the photographic image to a line drawing, executing its coloring processing by a microcomputer and printing it.

CONSTITUTION: Based on a photograph, each component of a hair part (a), a face part (b), a right side part (c) and a left side part (d) of baby clothes, and a right hand (e) is subjected to line drawing processing so that a border line is closed, and the generated line drawing is reflected on a monitor by an image scanner. Subsequently, with respect to the monitor image, the coloring processing is executed by a microcomputer, and the image subjected to coloring processing is printed by a printer. In such a way, a picture work whose impression is different from that of the photograph can simply be manufactured.
