Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method of a linear polymer comprising carbon monoxide and one or more olefin ally unsaturated compounds in which a unit from carbon monoxide and a unit from olefinically unsaturated compounds exist essentially alternatively.

CONSTITUTION: In this method, monomers are contacted under high temp. and high pressure and essentially without the existence of a liquid non-polymerizing diluent with a catalyst based on a group VIII metal compound (a), at least 5 mol. of an anion of an acid having pKa of at least 2 to one mol. of the group VIII metal (b), and a ligand contg. at least 2 phosphorous-, nitrogen-, or sulfur- contg. coordination position group capable of forming a complex with the group VIII metal.
