Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture a sheet for shadow mask with good etching property by eliminating nonuniformity of roughness in the longitudinal direction of coil of a rolled sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of rolls which preliminarily are dulled in 0.8-1.6μmRa is brought into roll contact in the range of unit width load of 0.05 to 2.00Ton/ mm and idling treatment of 1000 to 10000 revolutions is executed. By executing the final finish cold rolling under a draft of 8 to 40% using that rolls, the sheet with the uniform surface roughness of 0.3 to 0.8μmRa that is required as sheet for shadow mask is manufactured. In the relationship between roll roughness and the number of times of idling treatment, roll roughness after idling treatment of 1000 revolutions under the unit width load of ≥0.05Ton/mm is approximately fixed. By idling treatment, unnecessary projecting and recessed parts of roll are corrected before rolling, roll roughess is made in the changeless state, initial wear of roll due to rolling the sheet is eliminated and the nonuniformity of roughness in the longitudinal direction of the rolled sheet is made within 0.05μmRa.
