Title:
MANUFACTURE OF SINTERED COMPACT VARISTOR ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04354301
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce defects of a varistor pattern by forming a pattern layer of varistor ink by printing after forming on a substrate by screen printing a pattern of primer in the same shape as the varistor pattern or a little bit larger than the varistor pattern.

CONSTITUTION: Using a screen printing board of the same pattern as is used when a varistor element is printed, a solution of ethylcellulose/carbinol is printed on a glass substrate 8. After that, the substrate 8 is dried to form an ethylcellulose film 7 of the same pattern as that of the varistor element to be formed on the glass substrate 8, as a primer. Using a screen printing board which was used when the ethylcellulose film 7, a primer, was formed varistor ink 4 is printed on a pattern of the ethylcellulose film 7. Then, the substrate 8 is baked in the air at 420°C. Consequently, a sintered compact varistor element substrate which has no chipping nor pin hole in each element that maintains the desired shape is obtained.
